Foo Fighters Twenty Year Anniversary Tour Book

The Foo Fighters tour book is the ultimate collector item for fans. The 20 Year Anniversary tour book extends over 8 albums and includes every lyric from every song. My use of gouache for the backgrounds, cover and chapter pages is inspired by Foo Fighters core belief in analog being better than digital. The Foo Fighters have a fixation on being real and using skill, not computers, to make great music. On the cover and chapter pages there are a set of lines at the bottom of each page. The top set of lines represents the albums, the bottom set of lines represents the number of awards the Foo Fighters have received. Each chapter is represented by a different color of gouache. I made the overall experience of the book extremely saturated and colorful because I wanted the tour book to feel as powerful and intense as the Foo Fighters music. The lines at the bottom of each page represent the 8 albums the Foo Fighters have made and the 26 awards they have received. Each chapter has full page spreads highlighting some of the most popular songs by the Foo Fighters. These spreads break up the long list of lyrics by incorporating tactile, intense colors that bring the words to life.
